A Slow Tour of Upper Lazio with Syusy and Patrizio (3)

The Agrarian University of Tarquinia

In this third video of the new slow tour, we follow Patrizio on a must-see stop: the large agricultural estate of La Roccaccia, home of the Agrarian University of Tarquinia.

The Agrarian University isn’t a university with classrooms, desks, and students. Here, no one studies – they cultivate. “University” actually means “universality”. It refers to the collective ownership of this land – 6,600 hectares that belong to Tarquinia and its people
Within this vast area of “collective, undivided and inalienable property,” La Roccaccia manages about 300 hectares of woodland, pastures, and farmland.

It’s a story both ancient and fascinating. Patrizio tells it together with Alberto Riglietti, president of the Agrarian University of Tarquinia. They explain how it’s managed today, how it’s become a real engine for local development, and how deep respect for the environment guides everything here.

Have a listen!
