Noto, The Flower Carpet display and the Baroque

Come every May to attend this colorful festival

Today is a special day in Noto, the Flower Carpet Day (called Infiorata in Italian)! We enjoy a special perspective on the flower display from Palazzo Nicolaci and Casa Modica‘s balconies, guested by the owners, a noble family.

Noto has been rebuilt in the 17th century, after the earthquake in 1693: so that all the palaces and churches were rebuilt in the same period and in the same style. That is the reason why Noto can be considered a unique jewel of local Baroque.

The Flower Carpet days are deeply felt and crowded… It is (almost) always sunny you know!
