9th May: Keep clean and run!

8 days race from Aosta to Ventimiglia picking up abandoned litter

2 runners, 400 km, 8 days, 1 goal: cleaning up a trail from Valle d’Aosta to Liguria from litter!

For the European Clean Up Day 2015 (8th-10th May) the initiative Keep clean and run has been presented to the Italian Department of the Environment in order to raise public awareness of the waste management issue. Keep clean and run is a 8 days race across three Italian regions of northern Italy: Aosta Valley, Lombardy and Liguria. During the race the runners will pick up abandoned litters and throw them away. It is a unique occasion to enjoy the beauties of our country, but also to make it cleaner. All of this by having fun.

During the Keep clean and run event, local schools, families and associations will participate in recreational activities aiming at raise litter awareness. The two protagonists will be Roberto Cavallo and Oliviero Alotto, who will run 400 km, divided into 8 stages. At every stage the public will debate a specific topic concerning the environment with a spokesperson. The main focus will be to make people aware of the problems concerning littering and the origin of the litters.

Not only sport and recreation, but also education. Make sure you do not miss it! You can also join the crowdfunding campaign to adopt 1 km of this useful race.

Where and when: start on Saturday 9th May in Aosta and finish on Saturday 16th May in Ventimiglia.
